Westminster Dog Show 2022 Judging Panel

Finally, the annual Westminster Dog show returns home to New York City in 2022! Before its 145th annual event in June, the show had been a regular in Madison Square Garden. However, as a result of the COVID19 Pandemic in 2020, the  Westminster Dog show was moved to Lyndhurst in Westchester City.

Good News!  The Westminster Kennel Club has announced that its 146th annual dog show will be held in New York. This announcement comes after New York state began opening its public event venues. Therefore, the Club hopes to hold the event in New York, as proposed.

The Master’s Agility Championship comes before the main show each year. As usual, the Club intends to hold the Master’s Agility Championship first in 2022. So, this will be on January 22, 2022, at a yet-disclosed venue. Alongside, the Master’s Obedience Championship and daytime breed judging will be held from January 23-25, 2022. And, this will be at the same venue as the Masters Agility Championship. Therefore, as the event draws near, we are here to show you what to expect in the coming year’s show. So, this article will provide you with information about the Westminster Dog Show 2022 judging panel.

Westminster Dog Show 2022 Judging Panel

Masters Agility Championship Judges

For the Master’s Agility Championship, there are two judges. The first judge is Ms. Ron’s Bermke of Greenleaf, Wisconsin. Then, the Second judge is Mr. Been Gibbs of Kingsport Tennessee.

Masters Obedience Championship Judge

The Master’s Obedience Championship has just one judge. His name is Mr. Christopher Cornell of Sequim, Washington.

Junior Showmanship Preliminaries Judges

The Junior Showmanship session has two groups. And, these groups include the Junior Preliminaries and Junior Finals. The Junior Showmanship Preliminaries will be provided over by two judges. These judges are Mrs. Amy Booth of Mims, Florida, and Miss Liza Galluzzo of Branchburg, New Jersey.

Then, there is just one judge for the Junior Showmanship Final.

Up next, we have the Group and Breed Judges.

Group and Breed Judges

The Hound Group Judge is Mr. Eugene Blake of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Hound Breed Judges

For the Hound breed, however, there are four judges. This is because the hound breed has been divided into four groups. Therefore, each group of hound breed will be presided over by one judge each.  They are;

Mrs. Susan St. John Brown of Divide, Colorado is a judge for the first set of the bound breed. These are Basenjis, Basset Hounds, Cirnechi dell’ Etna, Ibizan hounds. Also, there are Pharaoh hounds and Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Likewise, for the second division of hounds, we have Mr. Dzuik as the Judge. This division includes American English Coonhounds, American Foxhounds, Black and Tan Coonhounds. Also, there are Bloodhounds, Bluetick Coonhounds, English Foxhounds. And more, Grand Basset Griffon Veendeens, Plotts. Lastly, there are Portuguese Podengo Pequenos and Redbone Coonhounds.

Next on the list is Mrs. Lesley E. Hiltz of Brish Prairie, Washington. She will be judging two groups. These are Beagles(both varieties) and Dachshunds(All varieties).

Finally, for the hound breed judges is Mr. Juan Miranda of Mexico City, Mexico. He will be the judge over Afghan hounds, Azawakhs, Borzois, Greyhounds. Also in the group are, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughis, Treeing Walker Coonhounds. Lastly, the Whippets.

Toy Group Judge

The Toy Group Judge is Mrs. Roslained Kramer of High Point, North Carolina.

Toy Breed Judges

For the Toy Breed Judges, there are six judges. The first of the Breed judges are Mr. Edd E. Bivin of Fort Worth, Texas. In this group are Cresteds, Havanese, and Maltese.

Also, the second judge in the Toy Breed is Mr. Albert Easdon of Moffat, United Kingdom. He will be the judge of the group which includes Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Pekingese, and Pugs.

Next on the list is Ms. Ann Ingram of Rochestown, Cork, Ireland for the Toy Poodles breed.

Also, there is Mr. James J.  Mitchell of Wilmington, Delaware as the Toy Breed Judge for the Affenpinschers, Brussels Griffons. Likewise, English Toy Spaniels(all varieties), Italian Greyhounds, Shih Tzu are in this group. Then, there are Miniature Pinschers, Toy Fox Terriers, and Toy Manchester Terriers.

For the Fifth Toy Breed division, the Judge is  Mrs. Angela Pickett of Chuluota, Florida. In this Breed division, there are Chihuahuas(both varieties), Japanese Chin, Papillons. Also, there are Silky Terriers and lastly, Yorkshire Terriers.

Finally, for the Toy Breeds, the sixth judge is Mrs. Cindy Vogels of Greenwood Village, Colorado. In this group, there are only Biewer Terriers.

Non-Sporting Group Judge

The Non-Sporting Group Judge is Ms. Evelyn Gregory of Louisville, Kentucky.

Non-Sporting Breed Judges

The Non-Sporting Breed judges are four. And, the first is Mr. Edd E. Bivin of Fort Worth, Texas. In this group, there are Finnish Spitz, Lhasa Apsos and Shiba Inu.

Secondly, we have Mr. Albert Easdon of Moffat, United Kingdom as judge for the Boston Terriers breed.

Next, Ms. Ann Ingram of Rochestown, Cork, Ireland as the breed judge for Bulldogs, Chow chows and French Bulldogs. In addition, there are Chinese Shar-Pei, Dalmatians, Miniature Poodles and Standard Poodles.

Finally, Mr. Bill Lee of Aurora, Colorado is the breed judge for American Eskimo Dogs, Bichon Frises,  and Tribetan Spaniels. In addition, there are Cotons de Tulear, Keeshonden, Lowchen, Norwegian Lundehunds. Furthermore, there are Lowchen and Xoloitzcuintlis.

Herding Group Judge

The Herding Group Judge is Mrs. Sharon Ann Redmer of Whitmore Lake, Michigan.

Herding Breed Judges

The first Judge on the list of the four Herding Breed Judges is Mrs. Nioma Stoner Coen of Great Barrington,  Massachusetts. She is the Breed Judge for Collies(both varieties), Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and lastly, Shetland Sheepdogs.

Then, the Second Herding Breed Judge is Mr. Thomas W.  Coen of Great Barrington,  Massachusetts. He is the Judge for Australian Cattle Dogs, Australian Shepherds, Belgian Laekenois, Belgian Sheepdogs. Additionally, there are Belgian Mainolis, Belgian Tervuren, Icelandic Sheepdogs. Furthermore, Norwegian Burhunds and Old English Sheepdogs are included.

Alongside the first two judges, we have Ms. Janina K. Laurin of Ashford, Connecticut. In this division are Bearded Collies, Bergamasco Sheepdogs, Beucerons. Alongside, there are Berger Picards, Bouvier des Flanders, Finnish Lapphunds, Pulik. Again, there are German Shepherd Dogs, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Punik, Pyrenean Shepherds, as well as Spanish Water Dogs. Lastly, the Swedish Vallhunds.

Finally, we’ve got Mr. James J.  Mitchell of Wilmington, Delaware. He will be judging the Border Collies, Briards, Cannan Dogs, Cardigan Welsh Corgis. Besides the aforementioned, there are also the Miniature American Shepherds and Polish Lowland Sheepdogs.

Sporting Group Judge

The Sporting Group Judge is Dr. Elliot L. More of Deerfield, New Hampshire.

Sporting Breed Judge

Mr. Gregory A. Anderson of Middleton, Maryland is the Breed Judge for American Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels. Likewise, there are English Cocker Spaniels, Springer Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels with Welsh Springer Spaniels.

Mr. Edda E. Bivin of Fort Worth, Texas is also the Breed Judge for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers, Lagoti Romagnoli, Vizslas. Apart, there are also Nederlandse Kooikerhonjes, Wirehead Pointing Griffons together with Wirehead Vizlas.

Similarly, Mrs. Susan St. John Brown is the Breed Judge for German Short Haired Pointers, German Wirehaired  Pointers, English Settlers. Moreover, there are still more like Irish Red and White Settlers and finally Irish Settlers and  Pointers.

Mrs. Nancy E. Talbott is the Breed Judge for Flatcoated Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Curly Coated Retrievers.

Working Group Judge

Ms. Faye Strauss of Kent, Washington is the Working Group Judge.

Working Breed Judges

Mr. Rick Gschwender is the judge for Alaskan Malamutes, Boerboels, Cane Corsos. Equally, there are also Dogo Argentinos, Siberian Huskies, Tibetan mastiffs, Great Pirenees. Furthermore, Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Kuvaszok, Dogues De Bordeaux. Additionally, there are also Portuguese Water Dogs.

Now, we have Mrs. Kelsey E. Hiltz of Brush Prairie, Washington and she is the judge for Bernese Mountain Dogs.

Again, Ms. Theresa L. Hundt is another Breed Judge. With her are, Anatolian Shepherd Dogs, Black Russian Terriers, Bullmastiffs. In the same line, there are also, Leonbergers, Neapolitan Mastiffs, Chinooks, Newfoundlands, alongside Saint Bernards.

Finally, Ms. Ann Ingram is the Breed Judge for Akitas, Boxers, Doberman Pinschers and Great Danes. Similarly, there are Boxers, Giant Schnauzers, Rottweilers and Standard Schnauzers.

Again, we have the Terrier Group and Breed Judges.

Terrier Group Judges

The Terrier Group Judge is Mr. Richard W. Powell of Palmyra, Pennsylvania.

Terrier Breed Judges

First, we have Mrs. Bergit Coady-Kabel as the Breed Judge for a group of terriers. Now, these are Australian Terriers, Terriers, Border Terriers, Cairn Terriers, Norfolk Terrier and Norwich Terriers. Alongside, there are Sealyham Terrier, West Highland Terriers, and then Skye Terriers.

Secondly, we have Dr. Ian Howell Gabriel as the judge for Bedlington Terriers, Cesky Terriers, Smooth Fox Terriers and then Wire Fox terriers.

Again, we have Mrs. Mareth K. Kipp as the Judge for Airedale Terriers, Irish Terriers, Kerryblue Terriers. In the same way, there are also Miniature Schnauzers, Parson Russel Terriers. Likewise, we have Russel Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaton Terriers, StaffordShire Bull Terriers.

Also, there is Mrs. Cindy Vogels of Greenwood Village, Colorado as the judge for American Hairless Terriers. Alongside, there are Miniature Bull Terriers and Rat Terriers. Additionally, there Welsh Terriers, Standard Manchester Terriers, and then Miniature Bull Terriers. Equally, there are Bull Terriers, Dandy Dimont Terriers and Glen of Imaal Terriers.

More importantly, we’ve got Best in Show Judge, and this is Mr. Don Sturz of Brooklyn, New York.
